Sales and Field Application Engineer – Electronics

We are hiring: Sales and Field Application Engineer – Electronics.

POSITION INFO:
A leading electronic component distributor, serving South Africa’s OEMs, design houses, and manufacturing sectors with world-class products and technical support. Representing top global brands, we are known for our in-depth product knowledge, responsive service, and hands-on engineering support. We’re looking to grow our Gauteng team with a technically strong and commercially driven Sales and Field Application Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive sales growth by identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing accounts
• Provide technical support to customers on product selection, integration, and system-level design
• Collaborate with global suppliers and internal teams to deliver tailored solutions
• Deliver product presentations, demonstrations, and technical training sessions
• Prepare accurate quotes and proposals in response to customer inquiries and tenders
• Maintain CRM data, sales reports, and opportunity pipelines
• Attend supplier workshops, industry events, and customer visits (field-based role)

• National Diploma or Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification)
• 3–5+ years' experience in technical sales, FAE, or electronic component distribution
• Solid understanding of electronic components (analog, digital, power, sensors, MCUs, etc.)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts
• Self-driven, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
• Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally
• Experience with embedded systems, circuit design, or product development
• Existing network in the Western Cape electronics industry
• Familiarity with global electronics suppliers and product lines
