Specialist Scrum Master - CVM & AI Agile Squads Location: Johannesburg, on-site Contract: Until 31 March 2027 (possibleextension) Industry: Telecommunications Level: Specialist - Rate: R500.00 Per Hour Area: Customer Value Management (CVM) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Role Overview Our client is seeking an experienced, technically inclined Specialist Scrum Master to support high-performing CVM and AI Agile squads within a fast-paced telecommunications environment. The Scrum Master will initially support the Contextual and Loyalty squads, although squad allocation may change according to operational priorities. A key immediate focus will be enabling the Loyalty squad to deliver the organisation's Campaign , while effectively coordinating the broader CVM activities required for successful execution. Key Responsibilities Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and retrospectives. Enable high-velocity squads to deliver against demanding timelines and business priorities. Support the planning and delivery of CVM initiatives, including the Summer Campaign. Partner closely with Business Product Owners to maintain clear, prioritised and delivery-ready backlogs. Coordinate dependencies across Business, IT and broader Technology teams. Identify and remove delivery impediments while escalating critical risks appropriately. Manage stakeholders at all organisational levels, including senior leadership, Product Owners, technical teams and squad members. Track delivery progress, sprint performance, risks, dependencies and commitments. Drive accountability, transparency and continuous improvement within the squads. Protect the squads from unnecessary disruption while ensuring alignment with changing operational priorities. Coach squad members and stakeholders on Agile principles, practices and ways of working. Adapt quickly when Scrum Masters are reassigned or squads are reshuffled according to business needs. Minimum Requirements Proven experience as a Senior or Specialist-level Scrum Master. Strong experience working within the telecommunications sector. Experience supporting complex, high-velocity and high-pressure Agile squads. Strong technical understanding and the ability to engage confidently with software engineering, architecture, data, integration and broader Technology teams. Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional dependencies across Business and Technology. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage upwards and downwards. Practical experience working with Business Product Owners and technical delivery teams. Solid understanding of Scrum, Agile delivery practices and scaled or multi-squad environments. Relevant Scrum Master or Agile certification, such as CSM, PSM, SAFe or an equivalent qualification. Preferred Experience Experience within Customer Value Management, loyalty programmes, campaign delivery, customer analytics or AI-enabled solutions. Familiarity with telecommunications customer journeys, digital channels, data platforms and campaign-management environments. Experience using Agile delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence or Azure DevOps.
