SUMMARY:
Scrum Master/Agile Lead
POSITION INFO:
Role Description and Duties:
· As scrum master / agile lead, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating and guiding the various Engineering teams through the daily processes and ceremonies.
· You’ll leverage your expertise in team sprint capacity planning, priority and issue management, issue triaging, analysis and testing to increase productivity within the team.
· This role requires a proactive individual who can collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure forward momentum and growth continues within the team while ensuring our platform remains robust, secure, and user-friendly.
· Manage the prioritised backlog into the teams (Engineering, QA, Data, DevOps and Security).
· Manage tracking and oversight of deliverables for the scrum teams they are responsible for.
· Coach team members on Agile practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
· Manage scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
· Manage quarterly burndowns for teams (responsible for) on completion of work.
· Collaboration with stakeholders (Product Owner, Director of Dev, QA Manager)
· Plan work into the teams for various sprints.
· Defending the team, collating information to support the defence.
· Analyzing data to find areas of improvement in the process.
· Removing blockages from the team - Manage the removal of impediments that block the team’s progress.
· Collaborate with the Product Owner to ensure a well scoped and defined backlog exists, that is representative of the road map (150% metric).
· Track and communicate team performance metrics (e.g., velocity), and hours logged.
· Encourage collaboration, transparency, and accountability within the team.
· Quality assurance testing of various feature enhancements.
· BA / analyst work if capacity allows.
· Assist with support processes via Slack channel communications as well as GitLab, leading through into team sprint priority.
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Project Management (or equivalent experience) is advantageous.
· Agile certification, Certified Scrum Master, Project or Programme Management certification is preferred
Preferred qualifications
· Experience integrating with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite, QuickBooks).
· Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven design.
· Contributions to open-source Ruby on Rails projects or a strong GitHub portfolio.
· Certifications in AWS, Ruby, or related technologies.
· Prior work in inventory management, logistics, or a related field.
· General Linux proficiency
Experience:
· 5+ years experience in Agile methodologies within a software development environment.
· Proven track record within a SaaS or data-intensive product.
· Experience working with a fully remote, distributed team is advantageous.
· Experience working with GitLab, Heap Analytics, Asana and Intercom is advantageous.
Domain knowledge:
· Experience with agile methodologies and frameworks and their practice.
· Understanding of inventory management, supply chain, or ERP systems is a strong plus.
Soft skills:
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Strong communication skills for remote collaboration across time zones.
· Understand the value of team metrics and keep track of them to drive team performance.
· Ability to lead by example, mentor others, and thrive in a fast-paced Agile environment.
