Secretarial Compliance officer

SUMMARY:
Our client is a reputable financial services provider based in Cape Town, offering tailored audit, tax, and advisory services. They are currently seeking a Secretarial Compliance Officer to join their team.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (both written and spoken)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a professional services environment, preferably as a Company Secretary (COSEC)
• Relevant qualification in company secretarial practice, law, or related field will be an advantage
• Strong working knowledge of the Companies Act and Trusts Act
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Experience with Greatsoft software is beneficial but not mandatory
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

• Ensure compliance with the Companies Act and Trusts Act requirements
• Maintain and manage statutory registers and records accurately
• Prepare and file statutory returns and annual compliance documents
• Assist with board meeting preparations, including agendas, minutes, and resolutions
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors as required
• Support the team with general company secretarial and administrative duties
• Use company secretarial software (e.g., Greatsoft) to manage compliance tasks (training can be provided if needed)
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in both Afrikaans and English
