Security Engineer: Networks ICT Security

SUMMARY:
To support the Senior Specialist: ICT Security through the research, definition and implementation of controls for the protection of the company's network (LAN, WAN, Wireless and Email) in line with the overall company ICT Security strategy.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent qualification,

At least 4 to 5 years’ experience in an ICT Security-related position.  An ICT Security-related certification, e.g. CISSP, will be an advantage. 

Solid working experience in and knowledge of the design and implementation of ICT Security controls for networks and the management of such solutions. 

Preferred technical certifications (Cisco, CheckPoint, Fortinet and F5 (Web Application Firewall).  Knowledge of international ICT Security-related frameworks and guidelines, e.g. NIST, ISO27002, is important.

 Key Performance Areas:

Analyse and research network security needs and technologies for all environments in the organisation, i.e. production, non-production and disaster recovery.

Design appropriate, practical, and effective network security controls.

Perform regular threat and risk assessments on the organisation’s network security controls.

Work closely with the appointed service provider to manage the organization’s Vulnerability Management Program by;

Creating and maintaining vulnerability management policies, procedures, and training.

Evaluating, rating, and performing risk assessments on assets

Prioritizing vulnerabilities discovered along with remediation timeline(s)

Sending and receiving notifications to the SMEs of vulnerabilities within the environment

Interacting with multiple global teams (security architecture, penetration testing, application development, Risk Officers, etc.)

Providing vulnerability analysis and produce reports for management.

Research, analyse and address network security threats as related to the organisation’s exposure.

Manage and maintain the following security solutions.

Firewalls, intrusion prevention system and web filtering (Cisco, Fortinet, CheckPoint and F5).

Email security (Mimecast)

Remote Access and IPsec solutions (Checkpoint and F5)

Wireless Network Security Infrastructure (Fortinet)

Radius (Microsoft Network Policy Server)

Assess and advise on requests for rule and other changes on the above solutions.

Manage the organisation Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)

Provide regular reporting on the state of the organisation’s network security profile.
