Job Description:
As the Security & Risk Manager, you will be a critical member of the hotel's management team, responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to safeguard the hotel, its assets, guests, and employees. Your role extends to ensuring full compliance with legislative requirements related to risk, health, and safety.

Location: Umhlanga, KZN

Requirements:

• Certification in security management, risk management, or related fields is a plus
• Proven experience in a security management role for at least 4 years, preferably within the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of security protocols, risk management, and legislative requirements related to risk, health, and safety
• Familiarity with security technology, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
• Strong understanding of local and international legislative requirements and regulations
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform security-related duties as required.
• Experience in fleet management and knowledge of transportation regulations would be an advantage

• Develop, implement, and continuously update security policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the safety and security of the hotel, guests, and staff.
• Monitor security operations and maintain a visible presence to deter potential threats.

• Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and threats to the hotel.
• Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies, including security plans and emergency response procedures.

• Ensure absolute compliance with local, national, and international legislative requirements related to risk management, health, and safety.
• Stay current with evolving regulations and update hotel policies and procedures accordingly.

• Collaborate with the Front Office/Concierge department to manage the hotel's fleet of vehicles.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance, inspections, and ensure compliance with all legal requirements for transportation.

• Lead, train, and manage the security team, ensuring adequate staffing, professional development, and performance monitoring.
• Foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and strict compliance within the security department.

• Ensure the safety and well-being of guests and staff by providing assistance and support during emergency situations.
• Collaborate with relevant departments to implement safety measures, safety drills and conduct safety training programs.

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of CCTV systems and access control systems, ensuring their functionality and effectiveness.

• Lead investigations into security incidents and breaches, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Develop and implement incident response plans and coordinate with local authorities as needed.

• Evaluate and recommend security technologies and equipment, such as alarms, access control, and surveillance systems, to enhance security measures.

• Manage the security and risk management budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective solutions.

• Conduct regular security and safety training for staff to enhance awareness and response capabilities.
• Promote a security-conscious culture throughout the organization.
