Sen Business Development Manager (M&A) - Telcos (Africa)

Pivotal role to support the strategic growth plan for Telcos firm in Africa. Be instrumental in generating business, developing new markets and acquiring businesses in SA and the African continent. Utilise your strong deal-making skills and knowledge of the Telcos industry in this new position ! Exciting career opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new business by identifying and assessing projects.
• Build strong networks and relationships with key stakeholders across the value chain.
• Liaise with stakeholders such as government, regulators, major commercial clients etc.
• Support development and implementation of strategic and operational plans for growth.
• Develop new markets by identify initiatives for new segments, new territories.
• Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Infrastructure & Ops teams.
• Develop pipeline and growth opportunities. Assess projects.
• Pivotal role to support & devise M&A activities.
• Identify fundraising and partnership activities.
• Conduct research on market condition.
• Identify sectors and companies that might be viable business targets.
• Conduct investigations into the financial and commercial state of the transaction.
• Construct business ‘pitch book’ cases.
• Manage transactions and oversee proposals to raise funds.
• Prepare valuation and financial models.
• Develop business cases for acquisition, investments and funding.
• Perform research to support buy or sell recommendations.
• Analyse data and identify market trends.
• Create presentations to present to major stakeholders.
• Other key duties to be discussed at interview stage.

Qualification and Experience

• Degree in Business or Engineering pref.
• Masters an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of Telecoms industry (broadband).
• Strong experience in identifying + developing business opportunities in SA/Africa.
• Good Financial analysis skills
• Strong dealmaker. Skilled in structuring + generating large deals.
