Senior Accountant

As the company continues expanding and modernising its operations, the finance team requires a Senior Financial Accountant who can deliver high-quality reporting, refine financial controls, and work closely with operational teams to improve overall financial performance.

You will oversee full financial accounting, drive month-end excellence, and provide the insights leadership needs to make informed decisions in a fast-moving, complex business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full financial accounting, general ledger integrity, and month-end close
• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, reporting packs, and variance analysis
• Ensure proper revenue recognition, cost allocation, and operational profitability reporting
• Oversee VAT, tax submissions, and statutory compliance requirements
• Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support, mentor, and guide junior finance team members
• Work closely with operations to understand cost drivers and resolve financial discrepancies
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling for operational and strategic planning
• Strengthen financial controls, processes, and system efficiencies
• Prepare for internal and external audits and ensure adherence to governance standards
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function

• BCom Accounting or equivalent (Honours / Articles advantageous)
• 4–6+ years financial accounting experience, preferably in logistics, courier, transport, or other high-volume sectors
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and solid IFRS exposure
• Advanced Excel plus experience working within ERP/financial systems
• High attention to detail with strong accuracy and deadline discipline
• Ability to interpret financial data and deliver insights to management teams
• Clear communicator with confidence engaging cross-functional stakeholders
• Proactive, structured, solutions-driven, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior finance staff is beneficial
