SUMMARY:

A well-established organization operating within the travel and tourism sector is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This role is suited to a strong operational accountant who enjoys being close to the business, supporting day-to-day financial activities, and partnering with operational teams to drive accuracy, control, and efficiency.

POSITION INFO:

This position plays a key role in managing core accounting functions within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Full operational accounting up to trial balance
Manage local and foreign creditors, ensuring accurate processing and timely payments
Oversee billing, collections and support cash flow management
Perform bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
Drive month-end close, reporting packs and variance analysis
Assist with budgeting, forecasting and spend monitoring
Partner with operations and procurement teams to support cost control initiatives
Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies and regulatory requirements
Act as a key finance contact for operational teams
Support audits, system implementations and process improvements
Assist with ad hoc reporting, analysis and finance projects

Job Experience and Skills Required:

BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance (essential)
Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles with a minimum of 2 years post-articles experience
OR
Minimum 5 years’ relevant accounting experience if articles were not completed
Proven experience working in a multinational or multi-entity environment
Strong operational accounting experience up to trial balance
Exposure to creditors, billing, collections and month-end reporting
Experience within travel, tourism, hospitality or similarly operational industries advantageous
Solid MS Excel skills and experience working on SAP or Navision (essential)
Strong attention to detail with a hands-on, solutions-driven approach
Confident communicator able to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
