Senior Accountant

SUMMARY:
A company within the Technology group is looking for a Senior Accountant to provide financial analysis, strategic insights, and accounting support to senior leadership. The role includes leading and developing a team of accountants through guidance and ongoing training. The successful candidate will ensure continuous skills development and support succession planning within the team. They will also be responsible for delivering accurate and timely monthly financial reports in line with business deadlines.

POSITION INFO:
Process month-end journal entries, including accruals and provisions, ensuring accurate cost centre reporting Review and oversee the team's accounting entries to maintain high standards of accuracy and quality Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts in line with reporting requirements Deliver timely and accurate financial reports to senior management and key stakeholders Provide financial support to business units and cost centres, resolving queries effectively Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with divisional leaders to align financial and operational goals Perform regular forecast updates based on evolving business conditions Conduct detailed cost and profitability analyses across business units Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to improve efficiency Perform monthly variance analysis and provide clear explanations for deviations from budget Partner with operational teams to address variances and implement corrective actions Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting standards (including IFRS) Support the external audit process by preparing required documentation and addressing audit queries Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency and reduce manual workload Skills & Experience: Minimum of 3+ years' experience (or 7 years without a financial degree) in a corporate accounting or finance role Experience with Microsoft Access Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and financial modelling) Strong experience with accounting software and ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Sage, or Xero) Strong analytical and forecasting capabilities High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality of financial reporting Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and collaborate across teams Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations Demonstrates a high level of integrity and maintains strict confidentiality Qualification: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
