POSITION INFO:

My client in the Payment Gateway Services is looking for an Accountant based in the United Kingdom.   To apply for this position you must be a British Citizen living in the United Kingdom

The Accountant is responsible for administering and applying Senior Managements budget as approved by the Board of Directors (BoD) and act as one of the persons who effectively direct the Company''''s financial operations.

More specifically responsibilities include:

• To ensure that the business is conducted in line with the budgetary targets that the GM has set and the BoD has approved, and that the Company meets at all times the minimum capital requirements as set under Article 4 of the Directive 2009/110/EC or any other Directive or Regulation that amends or replaces it.
• To ensure that the Company maintains at all times functional corporate and clients accounts (which are designated as such) and that clients funds are always kept segregated from Company funds.
• To report to the GM, to the extent possible, and on an ongoing basis, the external factors affecting costs, the price at which competitors offer the same services, and the cost-benefit ratio for each service, and verify that such information is utilized by the senior management in formulating the Companys strategy.
• To constantly track and scrutinize important abrupt changes in the Companys financial figures, procedures or personnel, as well as the regular control of the volume and causes underlying deviations between projections and actual results, as submitted to the BoD, to enable the assessment of the relevant unit performance in relation to the targets set.
• To examine the offers obtained from different suppliers for the purchase of equipment and software before any budgeted expenditure is executed.
• To prepare the required reports for submission to the regulatory authority in the manner and frequency provided for by the regulatory authority.
• To work with the accounting department for the preparation and review of the Companys financial statements including management and audited accounts on at least a quarterly basis. Trial balance statements should be prepared on a monthly basis.
• To work with the Company''''s external auditor to finalise the audited accounts within the timeframes required under the laws and regulations.

 Requirements:

• Proven work experience as an Accountant, Finance Controller, Finance Manager, Director of Finance, or similar role.
• Experience in the payments industry.
• In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping.
• Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management.
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models.
• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Solid analytical and decision-making skills.
• Leadership abilities.
• BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
• MSc/MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CFA/CPA) is a plus.
