JOB SUMMARY:
Senior Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Experienced accountant with some Office Management experience to handle and oversee the following:
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Data processing of accounting records (cashbooks, bank reconciliations, debtors, creditors procurement) - capturing, processing, reconciliations, payments and reporting.
• Full bookkeeping to trial balance – including general ledger processing and reconciliation.
• Day to day cost control and monitoring
• Financial administration
• Balance intercompany accounts monthly
• Assist in preparing VAT, PAYE and all other statutory returns for all companies
• Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system.
• Adhoc duties.
Requirements:
• Three to five years of proven knowledge and experience within a Finance accounting environment. Accounting experience is essential.
• Formal qualification required
• Demonstrable experience in managing books to trail balance
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a demanding position and to prioritise workloads in order to meet fluctuating deadlines across multiple companies
• Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Deadline and result orientated
• Organised, methodical, highly numerate and analytical
• Strong attention to detail, accurate
• Highly flexible in performing a variety of duties
• Sound knowledge and experience with Excel (intermediate proficiency)
• Strong computer literacy - accounting software experience (Pastel/Sage), MDA Property Management, IQ Retail, Outlook, Word etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Professional and friendly
• English & Afrikaans proficiency
• Must be tech "savvy"
