JOB DESCRIPTION:

Primary objective:
As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for various accounts payable (AP) accounts receivable (AR), and/or project costing functions. You will also support the payroll functions. Frequent communication with vendors, customers, employees and business partners is required to resolve discrepancies, clarify issues, and ensure proper recording of transactions. Understanding the full treasury process

Match invoices to receiving documents
Balance sheet recons
Post AP invoices into computer system (Syteline)
Verify/reconcile vendor statements
Answer vendor inquiries
Accrue appropriate sales tax
Work with Purchasing and Receiving to resolve AP matters
Reconcile vouchers payable
Process project costing transactions and validations
Process weekly per diem
Process monthly corporate credit cards
Process customer invoices in computer system (Syteline)
Reconcile AR and assist with collections
Work with Engineering and Sales to resolve AR matters
Answer customer inquiries
Assist with processing weekly payroll transactions as necessary
Maintain filing system

Education:

Newly qualified CA(SA) – SAICA will be advantageous
SAIPA Qualification
Associates Degree in Accounting is preferred
Minimum two years office experience, preferably one year in accounting.

Skills and attributes:

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience with ERP software (SyteLine preferred)
Good communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently or in a team
