Our client, a well-established and growing telecommunications company based in Sandton, is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Accountant to take ownership of the operational accounting function. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys driving financial accuracy, process improvement, and business performance.
The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams and senior management, ensuring the integrity of financial information, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining strong financial controls.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Manage the full finance and accounting function for operational entities. Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports. Oversee month-end and year-end close processes. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records. Monitor revenue recognition, cost allocations, and operational expenditure. Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax legislation, and company policies. Manage VAT submissions, statutory returns, and tax compliance. Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiencies. Partner with operational and business leaders to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Mentor and support junior finance team members where applicable. Minimum Requirements BCom Accounting, Finance, or related qualification. Completed SAICA\/SAIPA articles advantageous. Minimum 5-8 years' accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role. Telecommunications, technology, ICT, or service industry experience highly advantageous. Strong understanding of management accounting and operational finance. Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP\/accounting systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting capabilities. Key Competencies Commercially astute and operationally focused. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
