SUMMARY:
Are you an experienced Accountant with a strong technical foundation who enjoys reviewing work, mentoring junior team members, and taking ownership of the accounting function?
A dynamic and growing company based in JHB East is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead, review, and oversee a small finance team within a youthful, fastâpaced commercial environment.

POSITION INFO:

ð¯ Role Overview

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing dayâtoâday accounting operations, reviewing the work of junior accountants, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing guidance and leadership within the finance function.

ð Key Responsibilities

Review and sign off on monthly accounting outputs, including cashbooks, journals, reconciliations, and management packs
Lead, mentor, and review the work of junior accounting staff
Oversee customer invoicing, debtors, and credit control processes
Manage supplier / creditor accounting and ensure accurate payments and reconciliations
Ensure accurate bank reconciliations and balance sheet integrity
Prepare and review sales statistics and support management reporting
Assist with monthâend, yearâend, and audit preparation
Drive process improvements and ensure adherence to accounting controls
Provide technical guidance and support to the MF and wider business

ð Requirements

â Mandatory:

Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
Completed BCom / BCompt Accounting degree

â Experience:

Minimum 3/5 years postâarticles experience in an accounting role
Proven experience reviewing work and supervising junior staff
Strong exposure to operational and commercial accounting environments

â Systems & Skills:

Advanced MS Excel and MS Office proficiency
Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Sage, Pastel, Embrace, or similar
Strong understanding of accounting controls and monthâend processes
