Senior Analyst

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a Senior Analyst to join our growing private credit advisory team. The focus of the team is private debt capital raising, as well as M&A and private equity raises, in the private credit sector, including for microfinance, digital finance, fintechs, climate finance, alternative credit businesses.  The role offers significant exposure to live transactions across capital raising, M&A, and financial advisory mandates. 

Candidates should have 2–4 years of relevant experience, strong financial modelling skills, and the ability to 
take ownership of workstreams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. 
You will be working closely with the senior team to support clients across Africa, particularly in financial 
services, fintech, energy access, and other high-growth sectors such as mobility, digital lending, and embedded finance.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

• Support the execution of live transactions through in-depth financial analysis, research, and due
  diligence
• Prepare high-quality pitch books, investor presentations, and information memoranda
• Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and valuation tools in coordination with the team
  lead
• Conduct market and sector research to inform transaction structuring and positioning
• Assist in managing workstreams related to due diligence, investor engagement, and deal
  documentation
• Collaborate across internal teams involved in M&A, Funds and Operations
• Monitor relevant market developments, investor activity, and regulatory trends across Africa
  Requirements:
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Investments, or a related field
• Excellent academic record: minimum 80% in Mathematics and 70% in English (or equivalent A
  levels)
• 2–4 years of relevant full-time experience
• Background in one of the following roles will be considered favourably: - private credit fund - financial services team in audit financial services team in equity research
• financial services team in credit ratings - FIG investment banking
• Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• High attention to detail and ability to produce client-ready outputs under pressure
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage independent workstreams within a
  transaction team
• Right to work in South Africa or Zimbabwe and available to work in Johannesburg or Harare office
  
  
• Familiarity with deal execution tools, data rooms, or investment banking systems
  - Exposure to institutional investor engagement, or private equity investments or capital raising processes
  - CFA Level I or higher (or similar qualification) is an advantage
