Job Description:
Programme Coordinator is one of the key positions of girl’s education and gender equality department, supervising and leading a team of senior/programme officers. The person is responsible for overseeing the overall design and technical quality of the South African Gender Equity Portfolio Programme, providing programme direction, annual plan delivery and team.
The successful candidate will ensure that the departments work is in alignment to organisational priorities, growth plan and identified areas of investment. They will work in close collaboration with the Programme Operations and Research, Monitoring and Evaluations Directors and reports to the Country Director.
The key responsibilities for this role will include:
- Team capacity strengthening an dmanagement
- Ensuring programme implementation and programme quality
- Programme design, training and monitoring
- Operational efficiency, compliance and reporting
As you will be required to hit the ground running extensive experience is essential.
The requirements:
Qualification: - Bachelor’s Degree in related fields (i.e Social Science, Psychology Community Development, Pedagogy/Teacher Training, Gender Studies or a related discipline)
- Masters Degree in related fields (advantageous)
Experience: - Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the education sector and community development work
- An understanding of gender equality, social inclusion laws and related legislation, and of government and private sector policies and governance structures
- Good understanding of education system and policies, local government and community systems
- Good understanding of secondary school management structure and life skills initiatives
- Good experience in facilitating training/workshop with educators and in building relationships with government partners
- Experience in staff supervision, performance appraisal, mentoring and coaching
- Good knowledge of Project Planning and Budget Management
Skills Required: - Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Good computer skills
- High level problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to navigate complex operating environments, uncertainty and risk, including facilitating others to adapt plans as required
- Good cultural competency and stakeholder engagement skills, with the demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong relationships and foster collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders to secure outcomes
