SENIOR ATTORNEY – GENERAL LITIGATION

Location: Johannesburg
Employment Type: Full-time
Experience: 8+ years’ post-admission experience
Salary: Market-related

A well-established legal practice is seeking an experienced Senior Attorney specialising in General Litigation to join their team in Johannesburg.

Minimum Requirements

LLB degree
Admitted Attorney
Minimum 8 years’ post-admission experience
Strong experience in General Litigation
Proven ability to manage matters independently from inception through to conclusion
Excellent drafting, legal research and analytical skills
Strong client relationship and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365

Key Responsibilities

Manage and handle a diverse general litigation practice
Provide strategic legal advice to clients
Draft and review pleadings, notices, applications, correspondence and legal opinions
Conduct legal research and prepare matters for court proceedings
Attend to High Court and Magistrates’ Court matters
Manage client matters independently while maintaining high professional standards
Work closely with the existing senior litigation team
Assist with complex litigation matters and provide guidance where required

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced litigation attorney with a strong general litigation background, excellent technical legal skills and the ability to work independently in a senior-level capacity.
