Senior Backfill Engineer

We're recruiting on behalf of a globally recognised consulting firm seeking a Senior Backfill Engineer to join their mining and infrastructure team. Job & Company Description:

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Metallurgical, or Process Engineering
• At least 15 years’ experience in mining operations or consulting, with a strong focus on:
  
  • Backfill plants, tailings disposal systems, and mine infrastructure
  • Hydraulic fill, paste fill, and cemented rockfill systems
  • Slurry transport modeling and underground distribution systems
• Knowledge of laboratory testing protocols for paste backfill (e.g., rheology, UCS testing, thickening, filtration)
• Strong process design and plant commissioning capabilities
• Valid South African driver’s license and willingness to travel
• Registered with ECSA or eligible for registration
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and relevant engineering software
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
• Committed to HSE compliance and risk management practices
