Senior Bookkeeper

POSITION INFO:

Duties:

• Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts;
• Ensure legal requirements compliance;
• Develops and maintain systems to account for financial transactions;
• Defining bookkeeping policies and procedures;
• Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
• Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries;
• Maintains general ledger;
• Reconciling entries;
• Prepares financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing account information and trends;
• Enforcing adherence to requirements;
• Filing reports; advising management on needed actions;
• Produce monthly management accounts to the Financial Manager for review;
• All payroll functions, including leave capturing;
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
• Preparation and submission of PAYE returns Preparation and submission of VAT returns;
• Completion of tax returns.

Qualification

• Matric (Grade 12);
• Bachelors degree in Accounting/ Finance or any other related degree.

Experience

• 5 years booking experience is required;
• Completed articles would be a huge advantage;
• Strong accounting and administrative experience;
• Software knowledge Accounting Pastel and Advanced Excel; and
• Experience supervising staff will advantageous.
