Senior Business Analyst

SUMMARY:
Main Purpose of the Job

My client is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to elicit and clearly document business and systems requirements – producing required analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, as-is and to-be processes, UAT plan). Demonstrate fluency in business processes and process differentiation. Collaborate closely with business and developers to implement the requirements and provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process. Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple diverse stakeholders. Meet with project team regularly to review project deliverables and deadlines. Participate in the benefits realization and document the benefits realization plan to link the project with the business benefits of the project

POSITION INFO:

Roles and Responsibilities 

Document Business Requirements
·         Liaise with key stakeholders to garner an understanding of the existing structures, processes and operations of the organization, as well as the organization’s business requirements.
·         Collect and analyze business requirements and translate it into business/functional specifications.
·         Document as-is and to-be processes (dataflow diagrams and flowcharts)
·         Document/map the customer journeys
·         Clarify and identify relational dependencies.
·         Clarify and identify issues i.e. inconsistencies, redundancies, process failures and process risks.
·         Investigate and identify the root of business process problems and create strong, rational business case recommendations for change.
·         Review and compile detailed process documentation (diagrams, narratives and reports) for presentation to management and for training purposes
·         Design and compile detailed test cases and scenarios in accordance with a test strategy and plan. Co-ordinate end to end testing.
·         Conduct reviews and co-ordinate sign-offs.
·         Align the project benefits realization plan with the approved project Business Cases by producing the benefits map
 
Analysis and Solutions definition
·         Quickly understands the business issues, process issues and data challenges of the respective business units
·         Define business requirements and the specification thereof
·         Review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solutions.
·         Develop functional specifications and systems design specifications.
·         Seeks and participates in development opportunities above and beyond training required by us.
·         Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
·         Conduct high level feasibility studies.
 
Testing
·         Design and review test cases.
·         Leads testing efforts
·         Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
·         Works with client personnel to identify required changes.
·         Communicate need for changes to development team.
·         Processing of change requests

Qualifications & Experience
·         Tertiary qualifications in IT, Business or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
·         Proven years of experience in a senior role delivering BA artefacts aligned to Business Analysis Methodologies ( BABOK , etc ) and related frameworks.
·         Knowledge of Data Architecture and Data Flow Analysis
·          years relevant experience in systems analysis and design
·         Ability to interpret businesses cases and draft benefits realization plan and produce benefit maps
·         Exposure to professional services with exposure to analysis from a business perspective
·         Process analysis and process design experience
·         Demonstrated experience in business change management.
·         Experience in planning and delivery of significant business technology projects
·         Financial Management - Experience in preparing and presenting business cases supporting technology initiatives.
·         Demonstrated leadership skills to influence key stakeholders and enable Group IT strategy implementation.
·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills including an ability to engage with all stakeholders within the Group.
·         Demonstrated experience in business demand management and prioritisation.
·         Process Re-engineering/ improvement experience
·         Understanding of SDLC Methodologies
