Senior Business Development Manager

SUMMARY:
A Global leader in Agricultural technologies and innovations is seeking a highly motivated Business and Market Development Manager to establish and grow new market segments for their newly developed product by setting up a new successful business entity within Southern Africa

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a tertiary qualification in Agronomy or Agricultural Engineering
• Previous experience in sales, marketing and market development is essential
• Must have in-depth knowledge of agricultural irrigation markets and/or livestock water treatment applications
• Strong commercial understanding and sound business acumen are required
• Must be an outstanding networker and presenter of new technologies
• Above-average communication skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels and experience, will be required

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Developing the market for new technologies in South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe, focusing initially on agricultural and livestock applications.
• Leading the establishment of a new successful business entity in South Africa, with international support.
• Growing sales and expanding the business to meet agreed targets for sales and profit for the new technologies in the allocated geographies.
• Increasing awareness with dealers and end users through proactive effective communications.
• Building relationships with dealers, growers and farmers.
• Identifying, growing and developing the dealer network across territories initially for agricultural irrigation and livestock water treatment
• Supporting dealers with quotations and technical know-how.
• Overseeing delivery, installation, ongoing maintenance and trials.
• Through research, creating and delivering the sales and market development strategy and plan for the new products across South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe.
• Proactively finding, researching and targeting new applications and territories to expand the market.
• Identifying, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with relevant institutes and key influencers.
• Delivering a proactive communications plan to support activity and dealer requirements.
• Playing a leading role in all elements of the set-up and success of the company.
