Senior Civil Engineer

SUMMARY:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer to lead the design department at the Durban office of a national Engineering Consulting Firm.

POSITION INFO:

The main responsibilities of the Civil Engineer would be to:

• Provide effective leadership and management to the design department, production of engineering drawings, and preparation of tender documents.
• Manage the delivery of projects from planning to completion.
• Provide monthly reporting and cost control.
• Train technical staff.

• Min 5 years’ post-graduate experience in Transportation Infrastructure (particularly planning, pavement engineering, geometric design, stormwater drainage design, contract administration, and stormwater drainage design, contract administration and supervision of roads contracts.)
• Experience in road rehabilitation design.
• Proven track record in the management of a design office.
• Able to work independently and interact with relevant stakeholders at management level.

• Excellent interpersonal-, communication-, and management skills.
• Ability to obtain ‘buy-in’ and cooperation from staff and work well as a team.
• Proven track record of delivery of projects.
• Ability to market and contribute towards the growth of the business and profitability.
