Senior Client Accountant

SUMMARY:
Senior Accountant, Bryanston, Salary market related

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements: Recognized accounting or bookkeeping accreditation Proven track record working as a senior bookkeeper in a multi-client environment, i.e. comes from an accounting practice or audit firm background. International client exposure. Experience working on Xero. Experience working in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Working with international clients (overseas headquarters with SA branch or subsidiary). Corresponding with clients to request information. Writing up books to balance sheet on Xero or on other cloud based packages for a portfolio of clients. Bookkeeping to include payroll posting, revaluations at month-end, purchase and sales ledger, invoice checking and processing, credit card, bank, fixed assets, depreciation, accruals, prepayments, provisions. Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations in the required format and quality for your Reporting Manager's review. Preparing intercompany reconciliations. Preparing the monthly client management accounts within the required deadlines. Delegating and communicating expectations to support staff (if such are allocated to you). Preparing or assisting with the monthly or weekly client payment runs (this excludes performing any EFT banking). Preparing VAT computations and supporting documentation, in line with the company's VAT Protocol. Assisting with the management of the client's annual audit\/review within the stipulated client deadlines. Assisting the Tax Department with all the required information for the Tax Department to fulfil their mandate (example: VAT and Income Tax tasks). Assisting on projects and tasks, as delegated by the Team Leader or other members of the accounting team. Reports in to the Team Leader. Core competencies expected: Highly organised with good attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-centered focus. Adept at managing and meeting deadlines. Active team player, but also able to work independently and on own initiative, depending on the task at hand. VAT experience. Adapts easily to new cloud-based systems or other systems that clients may require.
