Senior Credit Controller

POSITION INFO:
A leading manufacturing business is looking for a seasoned Senior Credit Controller to take ownership of the full credit control function, ensure healthy cash flow, minimise bad debt exposure, and build strong customer relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and deadline-driven professional who thrives in a high-performance finance environment and enjoys working closely with sales, customer service, management, and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain robust credit control procedures and policies Evaluate customer credit applications, assess risk, and manage credit limits in line with CGIC requirements Open and maintain customer accounts on Sage Evolution (Pastel) Manage collections and the allocation of receipts to debtor accounts Send monthly statements, invoices, credit notes, and supporting documentation Reconcile debtor accounts and debtor control accounts Resolve account queries and initiate account adjustments where necessary Prepare overdue reports, credit limit reports, and aged analysis reports for management Manage CGIC insurance claims and bad debt recovery processes Liaise with attorneys and debt collection agencies on handed-over accounts Prepare quarterly bad debt provisions and weekly collection forecasts Release blocked sales orders subject to required approvals Ensure compliance with SARB regulations and foreign debtor payment requirements Assist with annual external audits by providing debtor-related information Reconcile and process credit card transactions Continuously improve processes and add value to the finance function Job Experience and Skills Required: Matric National Diploma in Credit Management Minimum 10 years' experience in a senior credit control or similar role Strong knowledge of debtors insurance and claims processes Experience working with foreign debtors and international payment methods Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUPs, and VLOOKUPs Sage Evolution (Pastel Version 10) experience is essential Apply now!
