Senior Data Operations Engineer

Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data operations, or a similar technical data role
• Strong understanding of relational databases, data warehousing, and system integrations
• Certification in SQL Server, Azure Data Engineering, or equivalent (advantageous)

• Expert-level SQL skills, including stored procedures, data extracts, and performance tuning
• Proven track record modernizing legacy SQL/data systems and implementing automation
• Experience with data warehouse design, particularly star schema and dimensional modeling
• Strong knowledge of data governance, quality control, and operational risk mitigation
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or similar modern data platforms
• Ability to document and transfer knowledge effectively for business continuity
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams

• Modernize legacy SQL processes and automate data workflows
• Serve as the data custodian for core domains, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
• Maintain and optimize operational and reporting data pipelines
• Drive integration between source systems and the central data warehouse
• Lead root cause analysis for data issues and recommend long-term solutions
• Ensure alignment with business stakeholders and data champions
• Deliver comprehensive documentation and technical knowledge transfer
• Act as the technical escalation point for SQL/data-related production issues
