Senior Data Scientist (Scorecards)

They’re currently on the hunt for a Senior Data Scientist (Scorecard) - someone who can combine technical precision with commercial thinking to develop world-class application scorecards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and review application scorecards, including reject inference and validation methodologies.
• Lead feature engineering efforts to boost model accuracy and business relevance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align scoring strategies with commercial goals.
• Develop predictive solutions in low-data environments, especially for SME lending.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts and data scientists.
• Present technical concepts to senior stakeholders with confidence and clarity.
• Drive thought leadership in credit risk modelling and best practices.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on key business priorities.

• BSc/BCom in Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering (or related quantitative field).
• Minimum 8 years’ hands-on experience in application scoring and credit risk modelling.
• Strong proficiency in SAS (non-negotiable); experience with Paragon Modeler is advantageous.
• Proven record in scorecard development, reject inference, model validation, and feature engineering.
• Experience across multiple industries (banking, fintech, telecoms, insurance, retail, etc.) will be highly regarded.
• Exceptional communication skills, strategic mindset, and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience with SME lending, alternative credit scoring, or ML-driven scoring solutions.
