Senior Design Engineer (Water)

POSITION INFO:

Prepare and Review Technical Design & documentation of projects involving the conveyance and treatment of both Water and Wastewater and associated technologies (e.g. water distribution, pump stations, pipelines and treatment plants)
Programme work and set productivity targets in discussion with the Project Manager
Specialised experience in municipal infrastructure and stormwater management
Proven experience in the master planning of municipal infrastructure, including water supply, wastewater (sewer), and stormwater systems
Proficient in the use of hydraulic modeling software and civil infrastructure design tools
In-depth understanding of municipal development policies, regulatory frameworks, and compliance standards
Skilled in catchment management planning and conducting flood risk assessments
Expertise in conducting feasibility studies and developing implementation strategies for public infrastructure projects
Ability to prepare comprehensive civil services reports for land use and development applications, aligned with municipal policies and standards
Engage effectively with municipal authorities to coordinate infrastructure planning, secure approvals, and support the preparation of service agreements
Manage and Perform design work as required
Prepare project reports, specifications, minutes, correspondence
Project leader/task leader for consulting engineering in water and sanitation projects
Planning, design, tender, and construction monitoring
Resolve technical issues on large, multidisciplinary, multi-contract bulk water projects
Prepare and Review Technical Contract Documents

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience
Bulk Water and Sanitation Infrastructure Design experience is a pre-requisite
Experience in both greenfield and brownfield projects
Experience with GCC2015, SABS1200 & COLTO
Specialised experience in municipal infrastructure and stormwater management.
Competent with Civil3D and AutoCAD

Qualification:
BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering ONLY
Registered as a Professional with ECSA
Specialised experience in municipal infrastructure and stormwater management.
