Senior Diagnostic Technician (Motor Industry)

SUMMARY:
An established premium automotive workshop is seeking a Senior Diagnostic Technician with advanced certification (Level 3 or 4) and strong diagnostic expertise. This leadership-support role involves high-level fault-finding and mentoring within a dynamic service environment.

POSITION INFO:
Role Purpose:
To accurately diagnose and resolve complex vehicle issues, ensure all work meets the highest safety and quality standards, and support the development of workshop team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced diagnostics using OEM tools and interpret technical data.
• Liaise with service advisors and customers to clearly explain concerns and solutions.
• Lead the resolution of long-term or complex vehicle issues, ensuring follow-up and customer satisfaction.
• Identify additional faults and provide detailed feedback to the service team.
• Maintain accurate service records, uphold workshop safety, and ensure quality control.
• Coach and mentor junior technicians and apprentices; share knowledge across the team.
• Stay up to date with technical advancements and participate in relevant training.
• Ensure compliance with warranty policies, health and safety regulations, and workshop procedures

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a qualified technician in a dealership environment
• Strong background in diagnostics and fault resolution
• Level 3 or 4 technical certification (or equivalent)
• Experience in mentoring and training technical staff
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to service excellence
• Valid driver’s license

• Previous Master Technician experience or OEM certification
• Familiarity with premium vehicle brands and modern vehicle communication systems
