JOB SUMMARY:
Senior Electrical Designer - Midrand

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are currently recruiting a Senior Electrical Designer with Petrochemical, Oil and Gas or similar sector experience for a 12-month contract position in Midrand that meets the following requirements:

Qualification, Experience & Requirements:

N3 or Matric
8-10 years minimum experience
Review project schedules on assigned projects with the lead Electrical Engineer to see that all dates, rates of progress and design periods are realistic.
Prepare and approve drawing index for electrical drawings, indicating planned issue date for each deliverable
Design and mark – up drawings as appropriate (e.g. substation layouts, lighting, earthing etc) to a suitable level of detail
Comment on other discipline documents
Produce MTO and bulk material requisitions and prepare technical bid evaluations
Ensure design quality, technical content and technical accuracy of electrical drawings on assigned projects
Check and approve electrical drawings where he / she is authorised to sign
Comment on supplier documents where applicable
Attends plot plan and model reviews
Assist the lead electrical engineer with contract works information
