POSITION INFO:

Our client is a dynamic and innovate Fintech company headquartered in Stellenbosch, South Africa. They specialise in providing cutting-edge financial solutions to empower businesses and individuals to manage their finances by providing access to already earned wages.

As they continue to expand their operations, we are seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join their team.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
• Oversee and review bank imports and reconciliation.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Process accurate journals and create required reconciliations.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing.
• Assist in tax compliance and liaise with external auditors.
• Monitor financial transactions and recommend process improvements for efficiency.
• Collaborate across departments to gather required financial data and insights.
• Assist in the development, implementation and improvement of financial policies and procedures.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

Requirements:

• Completed SAICA Articles is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Enthusiasm for the fintech industry and eagerness to learn.
• Knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Postgraduate qualification in Finance or Accounting.
• Prior experience in a fintech or technology-related company.
• Familiarity with financial modeling and data analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems or financial management software.
