POSITION INFO:
Our client is a distinguished luxury safari lodge operator dedicated to providing unforgettable, high-end wilderness experiences and exceptional guest hospitality in a pristine bush environment. This permanent role combines high-level interpretive guiding with operational oversight. Beyond leading twice-daily game drives and walks, you will act as a key host and step into the Relief Lodge Manager role during management leave periods, taking charge of daily lodge operations and team supervision. Key Responsibilities Guiding & Guest Hosting: Conduct twice-daily game drives and guided walks with a strong focus on Big 5, general game, ecosystems, and birdlife; deliver engaging storytelling and offer wildlife photography guidance to guests. Relief Lodge Management: Oversee day-to-day lodge operations, staff coordination, housekeeping, and maintenance supervision during management leave periods. Operational & Team Support: Maintain safari vehicles and guiding equipment, assist with basic lodge\/farm maintenance, and support administrative reporting. Guest Service & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, host guests during meals and activities, and handle guest queries or service recovery with a calm, professional approach. Requirements Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a luxury safari lodge environment FGASA Level 2 certification (FGASA Level 4 \/ Apprentice Professional Field Guide advantageous or in progress) DEAT \/ NDT Registration, Valid First Aid Certificate, and Valid PDP License Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH) qualification Exceptional birding knowledge, interpretive guiding skills, and proven off-road driving\/vehicle care experience Clear criminal record Attributes Guest-first mindset with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-driven leadership style Physically fit and comfortable living and working in a remote bush setting Reliable, adaptable, and passionate about nature and conservation Salary Market related.
