JOB SUMMARY:
This longstanding group specialises in the provision of world-class services throughout SSA. They seek an experienced Accountant, who will work closely with the Inshore Financial Manager and Finance Director, taking responsibility for ensuring the integrity, timeliness and efficiency of financial accounting and reporting.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

CA (SA).
Relevant experience in a Senior Finance or Accounting related role.
Change implementation experience.
Successful experience of managing people and teams.
Strong IT skills beyond Microsoft Office.

Accountabilities:
Report to the Finance Manager

Lead the Accountant and Account Assistants to create clear objectives, coach, supervise, develop and provide technical assistance.
Maintain integrity of ledgers through transaction approvals, regular reviews and monthly reconciliations.
Assist in preparation of statutory accounts.
Oversee/prepare VAT returns and other statutory reporting, including the preparation of provisional & annual corporate tax computations.
Manage inter-company balances/payments from Mozambique and liaise with external Accountants/reconciling to Buildsmart.
Main contact point for External Auditors ensuring audits run smoothly.
Prepare various month end reports (management report, cost report, segment report and order book).
Assist with budget and forecast compilation including population of actuals into forecast file, monthly.
Support, compile and collate information in response to group reporting requests from Head Office, UK.
Monitor cash forecast and attend weekly cashflow calls.
First level review of payments & support of Treasury Clerk with submission of cashflow/treasury reports.
Ensure compliance with all corporate internal controls, adherence to internal audit recommendations and maintain corporate compliance documentation.
