Senior Financial Manager

POSITION INFO:
A well-established and respected financial services organisation is looking for a Financial Manager to join their finance leadership team. This role reports directly to a Senior Finance Leader and offers the opportunity to take ownership of a key finance portfolio while working closely with executives and auditors.

This is an ideal opportunity for a qualified CA(SA) who enjoys both the technical side of finance and strategic financial oversight.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Your days will include a mix of strategy, reporting, and ensuring that everything balances exactly the way it should, which encompasses:

• Preparing monthly financial reports and performing insightful analysis
• Presenting financial insights to executive leadership
• Managing budgets and forecasting processes
• Reviewing and processing monthly trial balances
• Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations
• Reviewing daily payments and supporting schedules
• Supporting technical finance projects (including IFRS-related initiatives)
• Preparing tax calculations for the entity
• Assisting with investment-related financial statement sections
• Taking ownership of the annual audit process and liaising with auditors
• Handling ad hoc financial projects that inevitably pop up (because finance never sleeps)

• Possesses solid IFRS technical knowledge
• Communicates financial insights clearly and confidently
• Enjoys problem-solving and critical thinking
• Can work well independently and within a team
• Handles deadlines and pressure like a seasoned finance professional
• Brings drive, motivation, and a strong work ethic

• CA(SA) qualification – essential
• 4–5 years' post-articles experience
• Strong technical IFRS knowledge
• Experience with financial reporting and audits
• Exposure to SAGE and the Microsoft Suite
• Tax knowledge advantageous
• Exposure to the insurance or financial services industry beneficial
