Title: Senior Fleet Controller Sector: Transport & Logistics Location: Eloff, Mpumalanga Salary: R24,000 Nett per month (approximately R30,283.47 CTC) Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 17:00 or 08:00 - 16:00 (Candidates must be available after hours for urgent operational matters.) They are looking for an experienced Senior Fleet Controller to oversee daily fleet operations and ensure the efficient movement of vehicles and drivers. Description An exciting opportunity exists for a highly organised and proactive Senior Fleet Controller to manage daily fleet operations within a fast-paced transport environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating fleet activities, monitoring vehicle performance, managing driver productivity, ensuring maintenance compliance, and optimising operational efficiency. The role requires someone with strong transport industry knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make quick decisions in a high-pressure environment. Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of a fleet of approximately 15-25 abnormal side-tipper trucks. Plan and monitor daily routes, deliveries and fleet productivity. Allocate work to drivers and monitor operational performance. Manage fuel usage and fleet efficiency. Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs and maintenance schedules. Ensure fleet compliance with legal, safety and company requirements. Monitor driver behaviour and enforce company policies and procedures. Investigate incidents and resolve operational challenges. Manage fleet activities using the Transport Management System (TMS). Work closely with Operations to ensure efficient service delivery. Ensure effective communication with drivers and internal stakeholders. Requirements Grade 12 (Matric). Minimum 3 years' experience as a Fleet Controller within the Transport or Logistics industry. Experience managing side tipper or PBS truck operations will be highly advantageous. Strong understanding of transport operations, route planning and fleet scheduling. Experience working with fleet tracking, telematics and Transport Management Systems (TMS). Computer literate. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment. Valid driver's licence. Must be willing to work extended hours, evenings, weekends and remain available after hours when operationally required.
