π Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Gold Mining Engineer to oversee and optimize all aspects of gold mining operations—from exploration and resource estimation to mine planning, development, and production. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge with practical field experience and a strong understanding of ore body modeling, extraction methods, and metallurgy.

π― Key Responsibilities:
π 1. Mine Planning & Design
• Develop and update short, medium, and long-term mine plans for open-pit and/or underground gold operations.
• Design pit optimization, stope layouts, drilling patterns, and blasting strategies to optimize ore recovery.
• Implement mine sequencing, scheduling, and haulage strategies using mine planning software (e.g., Surpac, Datamine, Vulcan).
π 2. Resource & Reserve Management
• Interpret geological data and collaborate with exploration teams to identify mineable gold resources.
• Contribute to resource modeling, reserve classification (JORC/NI43-101 standards), and cut-off grade analysis.
• Perform reconciliation between actual and theoretical gold output.
π 3. Production Supervision
• Monitor and control production output, dilution, and recovery rates.
• Oversee the performance of drill and blast crews, load and haul teams, and processing coordination.
• Ensure optimal grade control and ore/waste classification in coordination with geologists.
π 4. Process & Metallurgy Interface
• Liaise with the processing plant team to ensure proper ore blending, throughput, and gold recovery.
• Support metallurgical test work and advise on ore variability and mineralogical characteristics.
π 5. Safety, Compliance & Sustainability
• Enforce mining safety standards and statutory regulations (e.g., Nigeria Mining Act, MSHA, OSHA, or international equivalents).
• Implement environmentally sustainable mining practices, especially in artisanal or high-impact zones.
• Prepare technical reports, permits, and compliance documentation for government or investors.
π 6. Technology, Training & Optimization • Evaluate and deploy mining technologies (e.g., drone survey, real-time monitoring, telemetry).
• Train junior engineers, operators, and local technical teams.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and resource efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:
Requirement Details on Education:
BSc or MSc in Mining Engineering or related field
Experience:
Minimum 7–10 years in gold mining, with proven experience in both exploration and production phases Software Skills Surpac, Datamine, AutoCAD, Whittle, Deswik, Microsoft Suite Certifications COREN or other professional license (advantageous);
Mine Manager’s Certificate (optional)
Field Exposure Remote site work, rugged terrain, artisanal mining environments
