SUMMARY:
Position: Senior HVAC Technician
4* Hotel - Bantry Bay, Cape Town

POSITION INFO:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior HVAC Technician to join the hotel’s engineering and maintenance team. The successful candidate will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.

Critical Criteria (Requirements)

• Trade or technical qualification in HVAC, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
• Certification in handling refrigerants and HVAC systems advantageous
• Proven experience in commercial or industrial HVAC systems
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in HVAC systems, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role, preferably in hotels or large commercial facilities
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and efficiently under tight deadlines
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• Leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior technicians
• Must hold a valid South African ID

Key Competencies

Duties & Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain HVAC systems throughout the hotel
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure continuous operation of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
• Diagnose and repair faults in HVAC systems and components
• Test and monitor system performance and optimize energy usage
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs
• Follow all health, safety, and PPE requirements
• Mentor and guide junior HVAC technicians and workshop staff
• Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance team to respond promptly to emergency breakdowns

Package on Offer
