WHC provides Faculty with a legal framework within which to operate the research and other activities necessary to support its academic objectives
In addition, WHC offers a range of products and services to Academics

POSITION INFO:
Main purpose of the job:

To lead economic evaluation research and to lecture in the Masters in Public Health (MPH) Programme and supervise students (Masters and PhD candidates)

Location:

Wits School of Public Health, Parktown, Johannesburg

Key performance areas:

Identify novel research methods and ideas
Attract research funding by identifying and applying for research grants in line with PRICELESS research strategy
Publish research in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, reports and present findings to stakeholders, the PRICELESS team and other groups
Manage research projects from inception to completion
Manage and mentor junior researchers

Required minimum education and training:

PhD in Health Economics
Must have published on Economic Evaluations in Academic journals

Required minimum work experience:

4 years working experience in health economics research environment
Experience in conducting economic evaluations

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:

Experience in analytical decision modelling
Published economic evaluation articles in peer-reviewed journals
Strong writing and presentation skills
Good conceptualisation skills
Experience in teaching and student supervision
Attention to detail
Flexible and adaptive with a positive approach to taking on several duties
Able to work independently and as part of a team
