Senior Hire Specialist / Sales Person

Purpose of the Role

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Drive sales and achieve monthly hire revenue and conversion targets. Handle walk-in and telephone enquiries and convert enquiries into bookings. Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell accessories, delivery, fuel, damage waivers and other services. Build strong relationships with customers and encourage repeat business. Resolve customer queries and complaints promptly and professionally. Manage equipment bookings, returns, availability and utilisation. Inspect returned equipment, record its condition and report faults or damage. Ensure hire contracts are completed accurately, including customer identification, deposits and relevant documentation. Maintain accurate cash-ups, invoicing and reconciliations. Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety requirements and equipment handover protocols. Coordinate with workshop, drivers and other staff regarding equipment movements and logistics. Assist with training and mentoring junior hire specialists. Maintain accurate records and ensure high levels of administrative and systems accuracy. Assist customers with the correct and safe use of equipment. Requirements Grade 12 \/ Matric. Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a hire\/rental, retail sales or equipment-related environment. Previous plant, tool or equipment hire experience will be advantageous. Valid Code B driver's licence . Strong sales and commercial acumen. Good customer service and communication skills in Afrikaans and English . Working knowledge of equipment and the ability to identify basic faults or damage. Experience with rental\/hire management software and basic MS Office. Good numeracy and financial literacy, including cash handling and basic reconciliation. Strong administrative and organisational skills. Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with demanding customers. Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff will be advantageous. Working Hours Monday to Friday, 07:00-17:00 , with some Saturdays from 07:30-12:00 .
