Senior Instrumentation Technician Employment Type: Full-Time Industry: Mining \/ Mineral Processing About the Role An established company in the mining and processing plant sector is hiring for a Senior Instrumentation Technician to lead instrumentation maintenance, resolve control-system faults, and guide junior technicians and artisans. Duties and Responsibilities Carry out planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on instrumentation. Diagnose and resolve complex control faults. Calibrate, test, and maintain process control instruments. Troubleshoot PLCs, SCADA systems, VSDs, and field instrumentation. Install, commission, and upgrade instrumentation systems. Provide technical guidance to junior technicians. Implement fault prevention solutions. Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports. Ensure compliance with safety and statutory requirements. Support maintenance planning and technical improvements. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 \/ Matric. Relevant Instrumentation qualification or Trade Certificate. At least 10 years' instrumentation experience in mining or heavy industry. Strong knowledge of Siemens PLC and SCADA systems. Experience in calibrating process instruments. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently on technical faults. Good communication and teamwork skills.
