Senior Internal Audit Specialist - Credit Risk Models

Purpose:

• To provide guidance and execute specialised audits for the portfolio, including the provision of industry/ best practice knowledge to enhance the audit process and the audit report.
• Perform audits / reviews mainly within the Credit and Collections environments including Model Risk.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Econometrics, Statistics, Informatics, Mathematics or related fields.
• Postgraduate Degree (Finance, Statistics, Mathematics) will be an added advantage.
• At least 3 years’ experience (including in the Banking/Financial Services industry), with specialization in Credit and/or Model Risk audit.
• Supervisory experience on audit projects would be an advantage.
• At least 3 years’ experience in model risk-based auditing or model risk/control activities
• At least 3 years’ experience in Internal/External audit or commensurate experience in a major financial services institution
• Be able to work with data and SQL skills

Critical Competencies Required:

Knowledge of Credit value chain and related Models in Retail Banking environment.

Thorough knowledge of bank policies, procedures and practices, particularly within Retail Banking and related products, with sufficient knowledge of laws and regulations governing banks including but not limited to:

• Banks Act and Banking Regulations
• IIA Standards and Code of Ethics,
• IFRS Standards
• Basel IV
• Systems audit knowledge

People Management & planning skills

Project & Relationship management skills

Proficiency in risk analysis and report preparation.

Analytical skills and experience in data analytics (e.g. ACL, SAS, SQL, IDEA, Advanced Excel)

Computer literacy (MS packages, Accounting Package, processing systems)

Results orientated and deadline driven.

Key Performance Areas:

Experience in and prior exposure to Credit and Model Risk is preferred
