Senior Internal Auditor

SUMMARY:
A company based in the FMCG industry has a vacancy for a Senior Internal Auditor.

POSITION INFO:

• B. Degree (Internal Audit) or Equivalent
• Sound IT skills.
• Minimum 4 years Internal Audit experience with majority in a FMCG environment
• Supervision of Internal Audit Teams. This is important
• Certified Internal Auditor or substantial progress toward Certification.  Timelines will be set in the employment contract to complete this if not already a CIA

In addition to the above:

• This is a high pressured, high performance environment
• Candidates should have experience in a FMCG or warehousing/distribution environment where stock was managed. Stock is major part of our business and it is important that candidates have experience in this.
• Candidates should be able to develop procedure, as there will not be always be available audit procedures.  We audit the processes in place at the client, which may be unique to that specific client and create audit procedures accordingly. 
• A high degree of common sense is required.
• Candidates should be self-starters, and should not be prompted to execute their duties.
• Supervisory skills are key.  A mature outlook on being able to managing younger staff and be in line with the vision of the audit department objectives.
• Candidates should take initiative to practice and familiarised themselves with ERP systems and other processes, specifically after training is given.
• High percentage of travel involved.  This is crucial.  We have a number of sites away from JHB that require travel.  This will entail being away from JHB for two weeks with one week in the office. We generally return on the weekends.  However there are also stock-take audit work which as part of this function will be required to work after hours and on some weekends.
• This role requires a CIA. If the person does not have a CIA qualification, substantial progress toward it is required, at least two parts.  They will be required to complete their CIA within timelines given in the employment contract.
