Senior Internal Auditor

The appointee should:

• Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in relevant field
• Have at least 3 years’ experience in internal or external auditing
• Be registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), Institute of Internal
  Auditors (IIA) or Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA)
• Have computer skills (MS Office, Teammate & data analytic tools)
• Have a valid driver’s license (if applicable)
• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical
  examination at the relevant Occupational Health Centre

Key responsibilities:

• Adhere to the vision and mission for Internal Audit that is linked to the business
• Execute the methodology for the Internal Audit discipline
• Implement practices and technologies to ensure compliance with the IIA Professional Practices
  Frameworks
• Market Internal Audit within the company
• Understand and ensure best practice methodologies for Internal Audit are applied
• Implement and encourage the utilization of technology in Internal Audit
• Adhere to the organisations code of ethics and related procedures
• Adhere to the company values
• Adhere to the IIA Professional Practices Framework and IIA Code of Ethics
• Report on the progress and tracking of key risks identified through assurance activities in the business
• Assist in consulting services to the business to assist in meeting current and future risk, business and
  regulatory requirements
• Assist in ad-hoc forensic audits
• Apply innovation and creativity for solutions
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders (incl. customers) across the organisation and externally
  at all levels and cross-functionally
• Ensure open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders
• Explain the risk and impacts of control weaknesses
• Communicate the control, risk and governance issues
• Facilitate solutions for the business
• Adhere to the teams’ operational expenditure
• Drive cost saving and cash conservation initiatives
• Interpret financial statements
• Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational
  development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture
  assessment
• Align to international responsible mining principles
• SA Gold Operations: Align to World Gold Council (WGC), Responsible Gold Mining Principles (RGMPs)
• SA PGM Operations: Enhance Together for Sustainability (eTfS) initiative
• US PGM Operations: Enhance together for ICCM principles
  SHE Management:
• Adherence to the culture of SHE within the Internal Audit disciplines in line with set policies and procedures
• Participate in risk assessments and investigate and take appropriate action as per identified risks
• Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures
  Quality Management System (QMS):
• Adherence to the Internal Audit Methodologies in line with IIA Professional Practices Frameworks and IIA
  Code of Ethics
• Comply with IIA Professional Practices Frameworks and IIA Code of Ethics
• Comply with the system of quality assurance for Internal Audit in line with the IIA Professional Practices
  Frameworks
• Adhere to divisional Culture and Climate within the team
• Adhere to the values of SGL and the IIA Ethics within the team
• Maintain professionalism within the team
• Stay abreast of developments in the profession
