An exciting opportunity exists for a technically strong and commercially astute Senior Investment Accountant to join a dynamic private equity business. This role offers exposure to investment funds, complex transactions, fund reporting, compliance, treasury, and stakeholder management, making it ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced and analytical environment.

You are a detail-oriented finance professional with exceptional analytical ability and a strong understanding of investment structures and financial reporting. You possess excellent problem-solving skills, can operate independently, and have the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders while maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and professionalism.

This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to complex investment structures, private equity transactions, fund administration, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial reporting while working alongside experienced finance and investment professionals.

Duties:

• Manage month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
• Prepare management accounts, forecasts, board packs, and investor reports
• Calculate and review Net Asset Values (NAVs)
• Maintain accurate accounting records for investment and pledge funds
• Reconcile investment portfolios, bank accounts, and cash positions
• Monitor management fees, accruals, and fund expenses
• Support investment transaction execution and deal closures
• Manage treasury operations, liquidity forecasting, and cash management
• Assist with FSCA compliance, company secretarial requirements, and regulatory submissions
• Oversee VAT, provisional tax, dividends tax, and other tax compliance obligations
• Liaise with auditors, SARS, banking institutions, and external service providers
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting efficiencies

• Matric (Grade 12)
• BCom Accounting degree essential
• BCom Honours advantageous
• CA(SA) qualification advantageous

• Completed external audit articles
• Minimum 5 years' experience in fund accounting, investment accounting, financial reporting, or a related environment
• Strong IFRS knowledge
• Experience with Sage Pastel/Sage One advantageous
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and reporting capabilities
• Exposure to private equity, investment funds, asset management, or financial services environments will be highly advantageous
