SUMMARY:
A purpose-driven financial institution operating in the development finance space is looking to appoint a Senior Management Accountant to support its Finance Department in Midrand. This key role focuses on delivering strategic financial insights, maintaining governance standards for lenders and donors, and supporting the broader financial sustainability of the organisation.

POSITION INFO:

Preparation and oversight of management accounts, performance reporting, and variance analysis for internal and external stakeholders
Support for annual budgeting and long-term financial planning, including board and departmental budget integration
Ensure full compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and funding covenants
Liaise with lenders and donors to maintain transparent financial reporting and governance
Assist in managing loan capital and grant funding to meet disbursement needs, while identifying cost-saving opportunities
Coordinate external and internal audit activities and ensure implementation of audit recommendations
Lead continuous improvement of financial systems, controls, and procedures
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior finance staff

Skills & Experience:
Minimum of five years' experience in a financial management or accounting role, with exposure to donor or lender reporting
Strong understanding of capital management, funding compliance, and regulatory reporting (e.g. SARB, foreign loans, covenants)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems such as Pastel
Demonstrated leadership ability and strong ethical standards
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills

Qualification:
Postgraduate qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
CA (SA), CGMA or equivalent highly preferred
