POSITION INFO:

A prominent organization within the infrastructure and energy sector is seeking a senior legal executive to lead its legal operations division. This pivotal, on-site leadership role drives internal capability, reduces legal spending, and supports group-level restructuring.

Minimum Requirements:

LLB or B Proc (NQF 8) plus an admitted attorney/ advocate.
10+ years' post-admission experience.
Regulatory and enviromental compliance, legal knowledge related to independent power producers (IPP), risk management, contracts management, corporate governance and ethics.
Experience in protection of intellectual property would be an advantage.
Registered with the Legal Practice Council (LPC).

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Formulate and execute legal strategy.
Manage a professional legal advisory team.
Provide strategic and professional legal advice.
Manage dispute resolution and provide negotiation assistance.
Assist with the implementation of legislation and case law,
Manage external attorneys.
Manage client relationships.
