Purpose of the Role

The Senior Manager: Risk will play a pivotal role in implementing risk management strategies that support the organization's strategic objectives, including funding acquisition, treasury management, and the execution of bulk raw infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Risk Management Department, providing strategic direction and guidance to risk specialists.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across divisions and departments, and support management in developing effective mitigation strategies.
• Analyze risk assessments, compile detailed reports, and present findings to the Chief Risk Officer, Executive Committee, and Board Committees.
• Identify and monitor financial risks including liquidity, interest rate, counterparty, and foreign exchange risks.
• Support the implementation of a combined assurance model.

Develop and implement key risk-related policies and frameworks, including:

• Risk Management Policy and Framework
• Business Continuity Management Policy and Framework
• Risk Appetite Policy and Framework
• Fraud Risk Management Policies
• Treasury Risk Management Policies and Procedures
• Monitor compliance with JSE Regulations.

Requirements

• Honors degree or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Risk Management, Assurance, or related fields, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Certified Risk Management Practitioner (CRM Prac) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) qualification preferred.
• Additional Risk Management certifications will be an advantage.
