Senior Market Advisor

SUMMARY:
Our client, with its global head office in the UK is looking for a Senior Market Advisor to join their South African team.

POSITION INFO:

The purpose of the role will be to work with a portfolio of their client companies, to support them to achieve significant growth in their exports into SSA. The role will involve working with a range of client companies who have the capability to enter or scale these markets.

Our client is an international government organisation responsible for the development and growth of certain businesses in world markets.

Description

The Senior Market Advisor will be responsible for the following:

• Help drive export growth by supporting certain client companies already exporting to these markets to grow sales
• Work with these client companies with the potential to export to these markets and support their market entry
• Contribute to the SSA team metric targets by assisting these companies to win new customers, deals and strategic partnerships in the market
• Leverage a network of buyers & decision-makers in target companies in the priority SSA markets that can be introduced to these companies
• Pro-actively identify opportunities for these companies through market intelligence
• Draw up a yearly sector strategy and events plan
• Initiate and manage projects/events in the market
• Working with the head office in the UK
• Implementation of processes and tools to optimise client engagement

Profile

The candidate should have the following:

• Open to equity
• Sales/Marketing qualification would be advantageous
• Must reflect longevity on the cv
• A cover letter is essential for the role
• Good business acumen and ability to communicate with executives at a cross-functional level
• Have a network in SSA(Advantageous)
• Have excellent knowledge and understanding of business development, consulting and the ability to assess and challenge market plans of clients to help them grow their businesses
• Recent commercial experience including market insights, analytic
• Ability to influence
• Must be able to travel at least once a month internationally
• Must be willing to take a 3-year contract which could be renewed after that
