JOB SUMMARY:

Our client in the automotive sector, based in Kariega, has an opportunity for a Senior Material Expeditor.

The purpose of this role is to ensure constant material supply to the plant at correct times and in sufficient quantities.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties:

Must be able to fully understand customer demand and forecast
Analyse MRP reports and send weekly releases to the supplier base
Micro-manage expediting of raw materials from ALL local and international suppliers and customers
Daily tracking and monitoring of inventory, while ensuring no impact to production, to ensure targets are met
Ensure safety stocks are kept at the required level based on customer demand to avoid any production stoppages
Daily communication with freight forwarders regarding import and export of raw materials
Ensure inbound and outbound freight targets are met
Ensuring smooth implementation of new projects
Keep airfreight an an absolute minimum
Keeping obsolescence to an absolute minimum

Requirements:

Degree/Diploma in Logistics
Minimum 5 years' experience in Logistics Automotive industry
Experience in management of other Material Expeditors and Cycle Counters
High level of knowledge and experience on Import and Export shipments
Detailed understanding of all OEM requirements and forecast to determine trend
