SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to join our team. This role is suited to a highly capable professional with a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience, supported by a portfolio of completed projects. Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks is essential. While the primary focus of the position is sheet metal design, candidates with experience in mechanical and structural design will also be considered. The role requires a self-driven individual who can maintain strong attention to detail, stay focused on deliverables, and consistently align their work with overall project and business objectives.

POSITION INFO:
Key Requirements Minimum 5 years of relevant design experience. Portfolio demonstrating previous project work. Advanced SolidWorks proficiency (essential). Strong sheet metal design experience. Mechanical and\/or structural design experience advantageous. Experience designing fabricated steel structures and sheet metal assemblies for manufacture. Knowledge of fabrication processes including laser cutting, bending, welding and assembly. Ability to perform site measurements and support commissioning activities. Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering project teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a big-picture perspective. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Key Responsibilities Develop concept, preliminary and detailed mechanical designs for industrial equipment and fabricated assemblies. Produce manufacturing-ready fabrication and assembly drawings. Design sheet metal components, enclosures, support structures, skids and mechanical assemblies. Liaise with engineers, project managers, workshop personnel and clients throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct site measurements and provide technical support during fabrication, installation and commissioning. Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and project requirements. Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawing registers and design documentation. Support multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful project delivery. Personal Attributes Self-motivated and capable of working independently. Strong attention to detail without losing sight of overall project objectives. Able to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple concurrent activities.
